1. What is the objective of the Immersion Course on Contemporary Social Issues?
The general objective of the Immersion Course is to enable Nepali graduates to intellectually comprehend contemporary social issues using the analytical perspectives developed in the various social scientific traditions. For more details please go to the About Us section.

2. Who can participate in the Immersion Course

Anyone with at least a bachelor’s degree and an interest in exploring the social sciences is eligible.

3. When does the next session start?

The coming session (Summer 2006) will begin on 24 July, 2006. The application deadline was on 15 May.

4. What is the fee structure of the course?

T uition fee for general participants – Rs. 11,000.
Tuition fee for institutionally supported participants – Rs. 20,000.
The fees are for the entire course and inclusive of a large study pack.

5. What is the duration and timings of the Immersion Course?

The course takes sixteen weeks to complete. The Summer 2006 session will end on 24 November. For a detailed timeline, refer to the Course index page. Each week-long module starts on Monday and ends on Friday. During the course, public holidays are not considered. 6. What is the application procedure?

You can download the application form from this website. Completed applications should be submitted to the Social Science Baha with a payment of Rs. 100 (application fee). You can also obtain the application form at the Baha office upon payment of Rs. 100. For details, call 5548142.

Short-listed applicants are called for an interview after which the final list of participants is announced.
