The Mahesh Chandra Regmi Lecture was instituted
by the Social Science Baha in 2003 to acknowledge
and honour Mahesh Chandra Regmi's contribution
to the development of the social sciences in Nepal.
The inaugural lecture was was delivered on 24
April 2003, by Harka Gurung at the opening of
the conference, "The Agenda of Transformation:
Inclusion in Nepali Democracy" organised
by the Social Science Baha. In the audience was
Mahesh
Chandra Regmi himself. Unfortunately for Nepali
scholarship, that proved to be his last public
appearance.
